Home, sweet home!
Well hello again lovely blog!!
It has been FAR TOO LONG (SIX WHOLE MONTHS!!!) since I last posted and I need to get back on track with this malarkey! So, how should I begin.. I have FINISHED my first year of university and summer has now begun!! I cannot even began to comprehend how this is possible...?! This year has flown by and I have had the most unbelievable time with lots of lovely friends, who I am so lucky to have met!
So now that summer is here, I decided back in June to make a list (which is very common for me..) of the most important things that I needed to get done once home. The first thing on that list was to change my laid-back, and sometimes lazy, student lifestyle back into my home routine with my family. Scrolling through the internet, I came across this little image..
.. I could relate so much to this and I'm sure many of you reading this will! This meant that if I was going to become proactive for summer, all those late nights and going to sleep at 2 in the morning had to change!! This took a lot of getting used to.. but my goodness am I thankful for doing this! There is nothing worse than waking up on a beautiful sunny day in the afternoon and realising you have wasted what could have been a lovely day.
Secondly.. Exercise. The word that you normally here and feel like you want to run a mile.. HA, 'run'.. Okay, so not funny Fleur. But on a serious note, the word exercise normally terrifies me - as I always think it means going to the gym or doing lots of sports etc. However, what I realised is that just doing just 20-30 minutes of dancing, skipping, walking, biking or yoga is a really easy yet effective way too keep fit! Whether you are by yourself or accompanied by friends or family, doing a bit of exercise will make a huge difference :) I have been home a month and have started running every Monday evening with my friend Aleisha, going on bike ride's and swimming on Tuesday evenings! Yes.. you could say I have gone from being a lazy student to a newly evolved fitness freak, but I am loving it and can DEFINITELY feel the difference and intend to keep it up!
Thirdly, getting a summer job. Now, like many people I had been searching and applying for jobs for the summer back in Easter, however, I had been unsuccessful on many occasions. After applying for endless jobs and going to two or three interviews, I have managed to get part time job as a Team Member at my local bowling centre, which I am chuffed about and am loving :D I am also doing some volunteering later on in the summer, helping out a summer show, which I have to look forward to!
Lastly, catching up with friends and generally having a thoroughly enjoyable summer!! So far, I am having an absolute blast and am loving being back and spending tie with some of my bestest friends.. especially spending nights out with my crazy gal Abbie!
As per usual.. I will leave you all with a lovely feel good quote..
Thanks for reading and I will post very soon!!
Lots of love and hugs,
